Team-Building

We know how important it is to unwind once in a while especially when you are surrounded by constant demands for your time and attention, so we have put together a package of fun sessions that provide groups with lots of enjoyment, considerable bonding, a return to their youth, and as a bonus, lots of new ideas that can be used with the kids they work with.  The sessions can be run as regular events or can be slotted alongside existing staff training, development programmes or in-service day activities.

The following ideas have been designed for staff working within the childcare industry, but most of the activities can be transferred to other types of groups.  At all times, we keep things light-hearted and fun, with enjoyment being the main aim rather than competition, although we like to throw some of this into the mix too, just to stir things up a bit!  We can also put together a package specific to the particular requirements of each group and are happy to discuss any ideas in advance.

Fun and Games

We can’t guarantee you’ll stay dry, remain on your feet or keep out the mud, but what we can say for certain is that you’ll have lots of fun in the process.  This option is all about working as a team while turning back the clock and returning to your childhood.  Our resources for this include water balloons, lego, sacks, blindfolds, space hoppers, gunge pots and many more surprises.  The challenge here is not just to finish first but to do it with a smile.  Don’t worry, everyone gets to have a turn at playing the fool.  It can get a little messy, a touch sticky and a tiny bit wet, but you’ll certainly feel closer as a team by the end of this shared experience.

The aim of this option is for teams to use their strategy and jokers (good & evil) well, and to outwit their opponents in a series of group relays and individual challenges.  Games include ‘sack it to them!’, ‘keep your nerve’, ’havin’ a ball’, ’slip n’ slide’, ’toss em’ up’, ’run the gauntlet’ and ’watch your step’.  This definitely suits groups who don’t take things too serious and are happy to act like a child for a couple of hours!

Crack the Code

This option combines craft, guile, creativity and a touch of ingenuity.  While it may be more Clouseau, than Bond, there’s lots of fun to be had along the way, and you need to keep your wits about you as you never know what surprises may be waiting just around the corner!  This challenge involves puzzle solving, code breaking, treasure and scavenger hunts, some orienteering and a little bit of spying.  While there may be more emphasis on brain-power here, there are still plenty of physical challenges too.  The groups will aim to complete a series of related challenges, with the completion of each one linked heavily to those that follow.

Fun Fitness Challenge

This very active options tests the Olympic spirit as groups compete against each other in a range of fun fitness challenges.  It’s time to go back to school for a P.E. lesson with a difference, except we won’t make you do it in your vest and pants if you forget your kit (or will we?).  We use equipment such as space hoppers, balls, beanbags, cones, parachute and fishing nets, and you compete in a series of team and  individual challenges.  It’s all about racking up as many points as possible, and tactics definitely play their part here.  The games include ‘powerball’, ‘gladiators’, ‘table football’, ‘basket-case’, ‘beat the guards’, ‘go surf’, ‘olympic challenge’, ‘grand national’, ‘crazy crab football’ and much more.  It will get a little bit competitive here, and sometimes brains do play as big a part as brawn. Ultimately, it’s all about having some fun and getting the chance to play games again.  While our only outlet to physical activity may be a long run or a trip to the gym, this all-round session involves a wide ranging workout encompassing basic skills, balance, co-ordination, strength and endurance.

Our sessions normally run for 2 hours and they can be set-up as required, with activities suitable for both indoors and outdoors.
