Dance Classes
Our dance classes and camps are all about fun, fitness and flexibility and give boys and girls the chance to come along and learn some cool moves and new routines, regardless of age or level of experience. Under the guidance of our Future Stars Coaches, kids are encouraged to express themselves in a range of choreographed dances, while adding in their own unique style and varied moves. Pupils also get the chance to display their talent at our regular Dance Shows and Party Nights.
Coaches
Our dance classes are run by a variety of teachers, from different dance backgrounds and this is reflected in the style of each session. Our Monday night class in Bothwell is run by Jill Henry and Rebecca Riley, with a focus on fun, modern styles, performance and choreography. Taylor Douglas runs our Tuesday and Thursday classes in Larkhall and Uddingston, and she specialises in a wide range of styles from ballet and modern to hip hop and streetdance. Our Strathaven session is run by Francess Neil, who brings lots of experience in streetdance, freestyle and hip hop.
Classes
At present we are currently running term-time classes in Bothwell, Larkhall, Strathaven and Uddingston. The details for each are as follows:
The Bothwell ‘Fun’ky Dance classes run every Monday (except for school holidays) at the Bothwell Parish Church Centre. They are suitable for both boys and girls and involve a mixture of street dance, modern and hip-hop, as well as teaching kids all about choreography and performance. They take place between 5.00 & 6.00 p.m. and 6.00 & 7.00 p.m. Classes normally cost £3.00 per session, but we are offering everyone the chance to attend their first class for free. We also have a block rate of £10.00 for 4 weeks. The classes are suitable for kids aged from 4- 12 years.
The Larkhall Class runs every Tuesday at Happy Feet Nursery. The first class is called Move n’ Groove and it is aimed at kids aged between 4 and 8 years. This takes place between 6.30 and 7.30 p.m. This enjoyable music and movement class is a fun introduction to a wide range of dance styles, but with lots of fitness and strength work thrown in for good measure. The second class is called Beat Mix Crew and this provides a fusion of upbeat, modern styles in an energetic and motivating class. This runs from 7.30 to 8.30 p.m. and suits kids aged 8-14 years. Classes are £3.00 per hour or £10.00 for a 4 week block. Again, the first classes is free.
The Strathaven classes run every Wednesday (except for school holidays) from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m. (for Primary 1-3) and 6.30-7.30 p.m. (Primary 4 +) at the Town Mill, Stonehouse Road, ML10 6LF. The classes are priced at £4.00 per session, but you can also block book, with £12.00 covering you for 4 weeks. The classes are focussed on streetdance routines for both individuals and groups and provide a test of technique, style and strength. Those that show enough promise will also get invited to attend sessions with the senior group, which takes place between 7.30 and 8.30 p.m. For more details of this class, you should contact Francess directly on 07525 166886.
The Uddingston classes take place every Thursday at the FS Academy, next to the Cricket and Rugby Club. The first class is a boys only streetdance class from 6.30 and 7.30 p.m. and this suits those aged between 4 and 12 years. The kids will work on various routines while learning all the latest moves and technique. The second class is called Beat Mix Crew and this brings together a mix of styles to challenge those taking part. This is aimed at a slightly older group of 9 to 16 year olds and provides a good workout for both boys and girls. This runs from 7.30 to 8.30 p.m. Classes are also £3.00 per hour or £10.00 for a 4 week block. Everyone is entitled to a free trial week.
All our classes are near capacity so we would advise you to contact us before coming along.

Performances
The Dance Classes will come together to create their own big show once a year, but will also perform in their own smaller shows at their respective venues. The shows usually involve everyone and there are opportunities also for solo and duet performances. The groups have also been asked to perform at various local events such as christmas and summer fayres, and the Scarecrow Festival in Bothwell.

Events
The Club itself organises a number of events throughout the year for all the kids, including summer and christmas parties and various shows and concert outings. The calendar also includes special events such as Family Nights, Talent Shows and Themed Parties.
Holiday Camps
While the regular classes take a break during the Summer Holidays, we offer our classes the chance to take part in fun dance workshops over the summer. These combine all the elements of the weekly class but include more 1-2-1 coaching and the creation of a show at the end of the camp. They can also include visits from creative professionals, outings, and lots of fun games.
